“The definition of happiness varies from person to person. It can even be understood as a state — a state of well-being and fulfillment. How can we be happy? And above all, how can we be happy in an unhappy society?” It is from these questions that Ana Borralho and João Galante conceived the performance “Gatilho da Felicidade,” inviting 12 young people, aged 18 to 23, to reflect on what it means to be happy today.

On stage, participants sit around a table, facing a symbolic weapon. Around it unfolds a metaphorical game of Russian roulette. Through a series of questions, conversations emerge about love, concerns, anxieties, family, and visions of the future. Words are set free, life paths intersect, and together they trace a multicultural and explosive map of youth.

For the performance “Gatilho da Felicidade,” Évora_27 is seeking 12 young participants, with no prior experience in theatre or performance required. What matters is curiosity, openness to dialogue, and a willingness to share ideas and reflect on the present and the future. The project is paid and requires evening availability for rehearsals and performances between May 8 and 16.

“Gatilho da Felicidade” is a unique artistic experience: a space for listening, exchanging ideas, and free expression: a provocative game that challenges what it means to be happy today.
