Targeted at artists who work with children and young people, the call aims to create a collective of artist-mediators who place artistic practice in dialogue with schools and with the themes shaping the future — in classrooms, playgrounds, squares, theatres, museums, and other spaces across the region. Throughout the project, each artist-mediator will develop cultural surveys, collective creations between classes and schools, artistic experimentation labs, and curatorial workshops with students, who will also be invited to take on the role of programmers for Évora_27.

The initiative values dynamic, proactive artist-mediators capable of integrating contemporary artistic practices into everyday school life, fostering intercultural dialogue, and giving younger generations a voice and responsibility in the (re)construction of the narratives of their time. Applications for artist-mediators are open until April 8, 2026, at 11:59 PM. “Our Voice” was announced in September 2025 and has since been developing alongside schools and communities in Central Alentejo. The project will run over two academic years (September 2026 to June 2027 and September 2027 to June 2028) in 20 educational institutions across the region.
