Évora_27 announces the open call “A Nossa Vez / Our Turn”, aimed at artists, associations, and cultural agents from the Alentejo

The Évora 2027 Association has just launched the open call “A Nossa Vez / Our Turn”, aimed at the cultural and artistic sector of Alentejo. This call invites cultural agents, artists, creators, and collectives from the region to submit proposals for collaborative artistic creation and programming projects, covering all artistic fields, as well as the safeguarding, recognition, and promotion of traditional arts & crafts in Alentejo, with the goal of enriching the artistic programme of Évora_27.
“A Nossa Vez / Our Turn” also aims to support the creative sector of Alentejo in addressing European challenges, fostering interdisciplinary and network-based collaborations, and promoting the circulation of their work across the territory. In total, 39 projects will be selected, with a budget of €1,000,000.
Vagar, the concept guiding the entire Évora_27 programme, also underpins this open call. Rooted in the identity of Alentejo, Vagar proposes a balanced relationship between past and future, tradition and innovation, people and nature. More than a theme, it is an invitation to create with time, attentiveness, and a sense of community. It is from this principle that “A Nossa Vez / Our Turn” challenges the cultural fabric of Alentejo to develop projects that express this way of being, living, and creating.
“The open call ‘A Nossa Vez’ / 'Our Turn' is an opportunity to enrich the artistic programme of Évora_27 by placing the creative fabric of Alentejo at the forefront. It enables artists, associations, and other cultural organisations to develop artistic collaborations and institutional partnerships that aim not only to internationalise their work, but also to address European challenges through the guiding concept of the artistic programme, Vagar,” explains John Romão, Artistic Director of the Évora 2027 Association.
The regulations and application form for “A Nossa Vez / Our Turn” are available on the official Évora_27 website, www.evora2027.com. Applications must be submitted by 23:59 (GMT) on January 10, 2026.
