Évora 2027 launches a cycle of online mini documentaries

#SENDO calls on people, projects and institutions already working for creative, cultural and heritage transformation in Évora and in the Alentejo territory.

Évora 2027, Évora's candidacy for European Capital of Culture, presents from today, February 7, at 7pm, the #SENDO project, a cycle of short documentaries that showcase several stories representing the work developed in the community, be it in institutions (public or private), associations, foundations, cooperatives or other groups. The project, which can be followed through Évora 2027's social networks, starts with the presentation of Zélia Parreira, director of the oldest Portuguese public library, the Évora Public Library.

Every week until November 2021, when candidate cities must deliver the first Bid Book, it will be possible to get to know around fifty stories, including the multidisciplinary cultural project Córtex Frontal (Arraiolos); cultural association Oficinas do Convento (Montemor-o-Novo); Almendres Interpretive Centre (Évora); Estremoz clay figures; Dark Sky observatory (Alqueva); artistic residences project O Espaço do Tempo (Montemor-o-Novo); cultural association SHE - Sociedade Harmonia Eborense (Évora); or the innovation Artéria Lab (Évora).

"This cycle shows the consultation process with agents, structures and institutions, which has been carried out by the Mission Team. These are voices which contribute to the development of Évora's candidacy for European Capital of Culture. At the same time, it is about knowing and acknowledging the work already done in the territory. And, therefore, #SENDO also aims to contribute towards the creation of a strong sense of belonging", says Paula Mota Garcia, coordinator of the Évora 2027 Mission Team.
