One year after the nomination of Évora_27 as European Capital of Culture, "Common Ground" is a concert played and sung by several voices; based on each artist's identity, genre and sound, it finds in music a common territory of closeness, amazement and discovery.
The city's bid to become European Capital of Culture has just been submitted. The program focuses on the creation of projects of local artists and organisations, promoting the cultural fabric of Évora and the Alentejo on a national and international level.
Évora's candidacy for European Capital of Culture in 2027 marks Europe Day with a discussion with Cláudio Torres, Elvira Fortunato, José Manuel Rodrigues, Maria Manuel Mota, Miguel Bastos Araújo and Tiago Rodrigues. The event will be broadcast online for free.
The aim of "Beyond Risk", a project coordinated by biogeographer and Pessoa Prize winner Miguel Bastos Araújo, is raising the community's awareness for the consequences of climate change, its impact on the future of cities and the quality of life of those who live there.
Évora is a candidate city for European Capital of Culture 2027, but the commitment is with the Central Alentejo, with a comprehensive look at the entire Alentejo territory. "Come, Believing" is the tagline for the first phase of the candidacy.
