Évora 2027 presents bid book in a public session open to the community

The public presentation of Évora's candidacy dossier (Bid Book) to become the European Capital of Culture in 2027 will take place on Saturday, February 19, in Évora's Municipal Market, in an event open to the community.

After several months of preparation, Évora's candidacy to become the European Capital of Culture in 2027 will make a public presentation of the Bid Book, a document that frames the concept of the candidacy, the strategy to transform the city through culture, and the main axes of the programming for the year of the event.

The public session to present the general principles of the Évora 2027 Bid Book, which will have the presence of the Mayor of the Municipality of Évora, representing the Executive Committee Évora 2027, Carlos Pinto de Sá, and the coordinator of the Mission Team, Paula Mota Garcia, will be held on Saturday, February 19, from 10am, at the Évora Municipal Market, a place of sharing, chosen for its centrality and contribution to the city's dynamics and experience.

The bid book, which was formally delivered on 23 November 2021, is now being evaluated by the international jury, which, after prior hearings with all the Portuguese candidate cities, will announce a shortlist with the applications that will move on to the second stage of the competition. After the hearing with the jury, scheduled for the first week of March, the Évora 2027 Bid Book will also be made available online, on the digital channels of the candidacy.

Alongside this meeting, which is open and extended to the community, three sessions are also scheduled to present the bid book, aimed at specific audiences. The first one, aimed at the members of Évora Municipal Assembly, will take place today, February 4, at 5.30pm, at Palácio de Dom Manuel, in the Évora Public Garden. It will be followed by a presentation to the Cultural and Creative Sector, with free entrance upon registration and according to the limited capacity of the room, scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on February 7, at the same iconic venue. And finally, on February 15, there will be a presentation to the Intermunicipal Council of CIMAC (Intermunicipal Community of Central Alentejo).
